In mechanical and electrical engineering the generator set is a machinery composed by an heat engine joined with an electrical generator (alternator). The generator set is capable of producing electrical power starting from thermal combustion and through two combustions: from thermal energy to mechanical energy and from mechanical energy to electrical energy.
The power generator can work in continuous service as in a construction site where mains power is not available, or in emergency service such as in an operating room following a power cut.
