Non-segregated, medium and low voltage busbar trunking for primary and secondary distribution, air-insulated
To complete the production of containerized switchboards and systems, T.M. manufactures segregated air-insulated busbar trunking, called TMbb. Like every T.M. product, these are custom-built products, composed of modular units based on the individual project that the customer commissions. TMbb is manufactured, assembled and tested in the factory, in order to facilitate subsequent assembly operations on site, reducing assembly times to a minimum.
The metal casing can be made of sheet steel, aluminum or stainless steel, with mechanical characteristics that guarantee the solidity of the construction.
The external and internal surface of the TMbb is treated with protective coatings (paints suitable for external use) to guarantee protection against corrosion and facilitate heat exchange.
The quantity, shape and positioning of the supports are developed during the design phase by the Technical Staff and the R&D Department of T.M. based on the nominal current values, the short circuit current and the insulation level.
TMbb is subjected to a series of tests in the factory:
- Assembly check and electrical function test
- Applied voltage test
- Protection degree check

- Degree of protection up to IP54 guaranteed for outdoor installation
- Busbars made of electrolytic copper CU-ETP UNI5649/BB, flat shape with sharp or rounded edges
- On request, busbars sheathed with insulating material suitable for resisting mechanical, electrical and thermal stresses, in order to provide protection against direct contact and facilitate heat exchange
- Bolt joints and contact surfaces that can be revived on request by silver plating or tinning.
- Low Voltage busbar trunking with supports in self-extinguishing insulating material with low emissions
- Medium Voltage busbar trunking with synthetic resin or porcelain insulators
- Drains for condensation and/or anti-condensation resistors on request
- Available in stainless steel on request
- Ease of installation and maintenance
- Safety for operators during operation and maintenance, in compliance with Legislative Decree 81/2008 and IEC 62271-200
