TMclad ready to ship
The transition to a sustainable energy future requires innovative solutions in every area, from production to distribution.
In the ever-evolving panorama of renewable sources, T.M. confirms its leading role with the improvement of its famous TMclad primary distribution electrical panel and inserts it into modern systems for the intelligent management of energy loads deriving from renewable energy, underlining its key role in the energy panorama of the future.
The new generation TMclads destined for an important project involving renewable energy plants in Calabria, Sicily, Puglia and Basilicata are ready for delivery.
The new TMclads will be the heart of the primary distribution within an intelligent management system of reactive loads on the Italian electricity grid. For this reason, T.M. takes the field alongside one of the world’s leading companies in the production of static compensators, tackling a complex redesign of the TMclad, which resulted in the creation of a new prototype that was then subjected to internal arc resistance tests, all in record delivery times.
An important project, especially for the direct impact on the population that will use the service as well as for the undoubted advantages brought to distribution:
- Reduce voltage fluctuations: stabilizing the voltage and improving the quality of energy on the network.
- Optimize the power flow: reducing energy losses and increasing transmission capacity on the network.
- Reduce the environmental impact: reducing CO2 emissions associated with network losses.
The project involves the installation of static power factor compensation (SVC) systems in several strategic locations along the Italian electricity grid.
SVCs are able to inject or absorb reactive power depending on the grid needs, helping to stabilize voltage and improve power quality. They also operate automatically, thanks to an intelligent control system that monitors grid conditions and adjusts interventions in real time.
The ultimate goal is to improve the flexibility, stability and efficiency of the electricity grid, reducing maintenance costs and network losses, and will also enable the implementation of new renewable energy production plants.
The new TMclad redesigned in a more compact solution while maintaining the same performance and safety characteristics, as demonstrated by the internal arc withstand tests conducted according to the IAC 31.5kA 1 Sec. standard, which were brilliantly passed.
For T.M., participation in the project represents not only an important technical challenge, but also a further opportunity to consolidate its collaboration with leading companies in the management of the national electrical system and in energy efficiency technologies.
The choice of T.M. as the official supplier of armored switchboards demonstrates, once again, the company’s competence and competitiveness in the primary distribution sector, even in projects of great public importance and requiring high engineering skills.
